The outbreak of the COVID pandemic has taken a toll upon the economy and businesses across the globe and has led to a severe shortage of manpower. Contrary to this, demand in the logistics sector is increasing at an unprecedented rate due to the Covid-led boom in sectors like pharma, perishables, general cargo, and express courier. This has prompted the air cargo industry to go on a hiring spree for skilled and trained professionals. The whole situation has also given air cargo companies a renewed sense of urgency in upskilling and reskilling their existing staff.

Cargo Service Center India Pvt. Ltd. Is already well equipped to fill this gap. In 2018, CSC India launched its in-house, state-of-the-art institute – Aviation Security Training Institute (ASTI). Through ASTI, CSC India aims to impart knowledge and train their staff to handle the crisis with the utmost sensitivity. Cargo Service Center has always strongly believed that their people are their greatest strength and strongly focuses on their skill enhancement.

The Aviation Security Training Institute (ASTI) was established with the sole purpose of upgrading human capital with the latest in aviation security. This well-equipped in-house training center has experienced faculty who ingrain air cargo safety measures to all recruits even before they start their official stints on location.

Through their programs, the institute not only gives a general awareness in the handling of cargo but also gives in-house training on Safety Management Systems to its successful recruits. The institute also has more specialized courses in Cargo Palletisation and various other courses on effective handling of dangerous goods.

Under ASTI, Cargo Service Center provides a set of DGCA and BCAS Certified Courses namely:

• Basic AVSEC

• AVSEC Induction

• In-house Screener

• AVSEC Refresher Course

• Dangerous Goods training

They regularly conduct courses at their training institute which is led by qualified instructors creating a pool of employees who are well versed with the extant regulations. All the employees engaged in processing and handling air cargo step into this organization through this institute with an essential awareness of all aspects of air cargo handling. CSC India ensures to upgrade the skills of their employees periodically, which not only keeps its employees up-to-date with the industry trends but also ensures overall operational efficiency.
